George W. Bush is a Dumbass

"Natural" roots? What the hell is he talking about?

As for cultural and religious roots ... different cultures, different religions, different people, different ideas ...

Argh.

Now I remember why I stopped reading the news.

Bush singled out Massachusetts' Supreme Judicial Court, which called marriage an evolving paradigm. "That sends a message to the next generation that marriage has no enduring meaning, and that ages of moral teaching and human experience have nothing to teach us about this institution,'' he said.

Ages? Ages? What the fuck is he talking about, ages? How long have people gotten married as they do now, Mr. Bush? Do you know? 'Cause from the way you talk, I don't think you do. I'll give you a clue: it hasn't been that long. It really, really hasn't.

And like ... as for marriage as an evolving paradigm sending a message to the next generation that marriage has no enduring meaning, that makes absolutely no sense. But I bet he doesn't believe in evolution, either.

Senate Democrats signaled they will not throw barriers in front of the resolution, paving the way for a vote on the amendment as early as Wednesday.

A constitutional amendment should never be undertaken lightly, Bush said, "yet to defend marriage, our nation has no other choice.''

I think I'm going to vomit.

Marriage is when two people love each other enough to know they want to make a legal commitment to do that. Note that I didn't say two of any particular kind of people, President Assface.

If he's gonna do this, he might as well try to deny marriage to anyone who's not a WASP. Which is fucking ridiculous - just like this gay marriage thing.

Please note I am still pissed off that my brother spent fifteen months in Iraq when it was originally supposed to be about eight.

Heh. This is EXACTLY the reason I failed to feel patriotic on the Fourth. How can I love a country that wants to deny me the right to get married? Why would I want to serve in the military of a country who wants to deny me a fundemental RIGHT? No, no, I don't THINK so. Fuck you Bush, and your draft too!
